Plantar con una profundidad de 5 cm y 10 cm de distancia entre bulbos. Llegan a alcanzar 40 cm de altura
Semisombra o sol, aunque es mejor ponerlas en semisombra para que las flores no se estropeen con el calor, en lugares más cálidos. Respecto al frío, no soporta las heladas y los bulbos los tendremos que proteger durante el invierno.
Necesitan suelo ligeramente ácido, con materia orgánica, y unos riegos ligeros antes y durante su floración.
Son plantas herbáceas, de hojas ensiformes, aplanadas y flores vistosas, fragantes, dispuestas en espigas unilaterales. Las flores son hermafroditas y ligeramente irregulares.
